Coaching
One-to-one, disability and neuro-affirming Coaching. A range of individualised programmes to support you at every stage of your personal and professional development journey.
How can coaching help?
Experiences of neurodivergence or disability in the workplace can be isolating and a source of anxiety for both employees and their managers.
In both instances, this can lead to a loss of confidence, preventing individuals and teams from reaching their full potential.
Coaching presents an opportunity to explore your unique challenges, strengths, and needs in a confidential one-to-one environment. It enables you to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and a range of strategies that support you in working at your best.
For organisations that support their team through coaching, outcomes include more effective teams, better efficiency, and improved well-being

Who will I be working with?
All our Coaches are qualified and experienced, and have lived experience of neurodivergence and/ or disability.
Your experience is unique to you, and we will match you with someone who has a similar lived experience, where relevant. For example, if you have recently begun identifying as autistic, we will match you with a Coach who is also autistic, where possible.
With SIC, you will always have the opportunity to have a Discovery Call to speak to your Coach in advance and check that you are a good match, and you will always have the option to ask for someone new if the fit doesn’t feel right.
How much will it cost?
The Government’s Access to Work (AtW) scheme provides financial support for a variety of Coaching and Training options to support disabled people to get and stay in work. We recommend exploring funding options; if you are eligible, the scheme may fund up to 100% of the cost.

Disability Impact Training
Disability Impact Training is an opportunity for people who have recently identified or been diagnosed as neurodivergent or disabled to explore what this means for them in the workplace, develop strategies for self-support, and ask for support from others.
It can also support people whose experience of their neurodivergence or disability has changed because of a change of context, for example, during the transition from education to work.
A blended Training-Coaching approach ensures that while potentially new concepts are introduced to help the person understand their experiences and their impact, the person retains agency and is supported to develop strategies and an action plan that is individual to them.
Because each person’s identification or diagnostic journey is unique, each training programme will be co-created between the Coach and the client to meet their needs. While each programme will be different, it is typically comprised of 5 x 90-minute sessions.
Coaching for neurodivergent individuals
Coaching is an opportunity to develop your understanding of your disability or neurodivergence to increase your knowledge of your own unique profile of challenges, strengths, and needs. Whether you have identified or been diagnosed as a child or later in life, our Coaches can support you on your journey to understanding self and self-acceptance.
We aim to enable you to develop the awareness and confidence to advocate for your needs and create sustainable ways of working and living where you can reach your potential.
Coaching involves a blend of support and stretch to enable you to move towards your own goals, whatever stage you’re at in your career.
Coaching for managers or leaders of neurodivergent team members
Coaching can be an effective way to support managers and leaders in increasing their understanding of neurodivergence or disability, enabling them to better support themselves and their team.
A blended Training-Coaching approach builds knowledge and understanding while ensuring that sessions focus on supporting you to develop approaches and strategies that are relevant for you, your team, and your context.
Programmes will be tailored to your current level of understanding and your developmental goals. A typical package would include 6 x 1-hour Coaching sessions.
Bespoke corporate packages
Combining individual, manager, and wider team development provides an effective way of building organisational literacy with disability and neuro-affirming practice at a systemic level. When all employees feel supported to work at their best, everyone wins.
SIC can support you by providing bespoke packages to meet your needs and your budget.
An example package might include Coaching for individuals, Awareness Training for team members, and Consulting support for the organisation’s HR Function.

Common themes
Because each person’s identification or diagnostic journey is unique, each training programme will be co-created between the coach and the client to meet their needs. While each programme will be different, there are several common themes that we have found provide a helpful structure for the work:
Initial assessment of capabilities and needs
Developing an understanding of experiences in the context of neurodivergence/disability
Understanding the impact at work and more widely
Identifying unique strengths and challenges
Exploring options for support in the context of self-support, support with tasks, and the environment
Developing approaches to disclosure and self-advocacy
Creating a personalised toolkit of approaches and strategies
Developing an action plan to support change and development during the training and beyond
